December is here at long last!
I am excited about Christmas this year in particular, because we are going back to England for it!
Last year we spent the festive period in Montreal, and the year before we had a German Christmas Day in Munich, but this year we are having a traditional English Christmas! We are flying back to England in just under two weeks to spend it with family and catching up with friends!!
We have both been looking forward to it since booking our flights at the beginning of September, and now the time is almost upon us!
I love spending the day just T and myself, but I feel there is just something extra special about going home for Christmas.

The outdoors decorations have been emerging here for the past few weeks - as soon as Halloween was over, the Christmas adornments came out. On some houses, the two merged for a while - I spotted a hanging ghoul sharing space on a porch with some large Christmas baubles on one house.
The Christmas trees have been for sale for a good few weeks already. Lined up outside various stores and in spaces at street corners, they provide a festive scent as you walk past, one which ignites memories of Christmases past and causes your stomach to give a tiny excited leap.
We reasoned it wasn't worth us getting a tree this year seeing as we would be away for over a week and would therefore return to a carpet of needles, but we still decorated the apartment.
We may have gone a tad overboard, nearly every single decoration we own has been put up with the 'excuse,' "We haven't got a tree so might as well make up for it." Therefore the tinsel has found various non-tree homes, as have a few of the baubles.
Only time will tell how long the one's in Albie's reach will stay...
