- We returned from the Hunter Valley to an incredibly windy Sydney, and as I opened the front door I was greeted by a sleepy looking Albie. He's usually very good about not wanting to rush through an open door, but with a gust of wind suddenly blowing something off the kitchen surface behind him, he shot through the door. As I, with full hands, tried to calmly entice him back, the door slammed behind me. Placing the bags on the ground, I had the idea of getting Albie's food packet and giving it a shake to get him to come back indoors. I turned the handle...and the door wouldn't budge. The keys were still in the lock, on my side, but the force with which is slammed shut must have caused something to slip slightly, and prevent the door from opening.
He tried the door, no luck.
And again, it wouldn't budge.
Then he used brute force, and the door opened. We all piled in; us relieved we weren't shut out of the apartment; Albie pleased to be back inside a familiar environment - and one which held his cat biscuits...
- We are beginning to think we have been sold a lollipop on this whole 'Sunny Australian Christmas.' There is no way I would want a barbie on the beach at the moment:
- Talking of Christmas - I cannot believe it is next week! Now more in the festive mindset, I still keep thinking I have a couple of weeks to get things done...
- We have ordered the turkey though. I thought it might be too hot to have the oven on for hours, but at this rate it will be nice to have the warmth!
Although we don't have that many decorations in the apartment (the joys of moving and getting rid of a lot of things, plus the delights of renting and not allowed to put any pins anywhere...) in addition to the tree we did buy a couple of Moose as a nod to Montreal:
