And our holiday week is nearly at an end.
It started with the sounds of an ice cream van on our street, right outside the apartment. We had heard it a couple of times in the past months, but it had always been down another street - and that street was either down and then up a - steep - hill, or across water. We decided to go for a long walk on Monday: our favourite walk, Spit to Manly, return - and with an extra little loop thrown in for good measure. The extra little loop ended up being cut short due to the weather (fine rain - although nice and cooling, meant we couldn't see any views, and was a little miserable as it blew in our faces). Despite this 'shortening' we still walked 32 km (nearly 20 miles).

It was a great performance, for both young and old viewers, although I think the younger got the most out of it. Still, it was a hot and sunny day, so sitting on the grass for an hour and a half in the beautiful gardens was no hardship!
After the show we had a stroll around the city and then grabbed a bite to eat. Whilst waiting to catch the ferry home we walked around the outside of the Opera House and saw this little guy having a rest on the VIP steps, looking very happy indeed:
And that mystery location for our nights away last weekend? I'll tell you about it next week! All I will say for now is that our destination was also home to many of these charming creatures:
