After welcoming in the New Year watching the Sydney fireworks...
...the year got off to a very sunny start, and we walked across the bridge to Barangaroo and sat on the rocks eating a well-deserved slice of - slightly melted in the heat - Christmas cake.
The cleaners had done a fantastic job, and by the time we walked around the areas close to the bridge at 10am, there was not a sign of the crowds that had been there just a few hours previously.
A few days later, the rain came: four solid days of it - and the 'fresh' 17-degree temperatures reminded us of an English summer day. The birds were not impressed either, and a magpie spent most of the time sheltering on next doors covered balcony looking very miserable indeed, the water off its back collecting in a puddle on the floor. A Kookaburra made the most of our balcony one evening:
We had a robbery last weekend...waking up in the morning to find the strawberry plant had been stripped of it's handful of ripe, plump berries. The cats were soon on the case...
