The clocks went forward an hour at the weekend, which has meant lovely light mornings, but the darkness is now setting in by 6pm, with the long shadows making their cooler mark on the land mid-afternoon.
We made the most of the Easter sales, T getting the bargain of the day with a pair of Levi Jeans. The ticket said $19, which was such a huge reduction when T took them to the till, he asked the assistant if they really were just $19. She scanned the label and said, "No." Oh. "They're $9.50"! I also bought some jeans, not such a huge reduction but still a very big saving. The sticker was over the back pocket. I bought them home and put them on, remembering to peel off the ticket just before I went out of the door (as is my way...). Walking up the steps to the road, I asked T if I had taken all the lables off. He looked. "There's a rip!" I thought he was joking and ignored him. But when he continued insisting I go and change, I began to think maybe he was telling the truth. I look in the mirror - there was indeed a big rip, right where the sticky label had been. Had I not jokingly asked him to check, I would have flashed my behind to the unsuspecting public of Sydney CBD...
