Wednesday 18th June 2014.
We are currently sat in Montreal airport waiting for our flight to London Heathrow; six bags bursting at the seams (well, five plus a surfboard...) checked in; two very full hand luggage bags by our sides, and no home address.
The past week has been crazy busy; hardly any time to stop and take in we are in fact leaving Montreal; saying goodbye to our home for the past 21 months.
It has been an experience; we have learnt many things; only now, sat down (finally!) - I am taking stock, and am pretty emotional to be leaving this city which has taught me what cold really means...

The next few weeks will be full of visiting friends and family in England, soaking up all we can of our mother country, before we fly out and set up our new home in Australia.
You will hear all about it...!
You will hear all about it...!
For now though, here are a few photos to sum up our time in Montreal:
Ice hockey. Everyone gets involved it seems - even the graffiti artists...
Our one and only encounter with a Mountie:
Did I happen to mention how cold the winters got?!
We certainly learnt the art of wrapping up warm...

Our street. A welcome sight when our hands and noses were numb with cold...
Some days it was harder to walk down the street...
...than others...
The hot summer months meant many opportunities to sit on the balcony at the back of the apartment and have a barbecue with friends...
Then there was the strange wildlife...
We never saw those in England!
The view across the city from the top of The Mountain was always breathtaking...
The Fall colours were absolutely breathtaking - we now understand why people travel many miles to come and see them!
Never knock a bagel until you try a fresh Montreal bagel...
And, of course, I couldn't complete the post without a mention to a certain four-legged someone...our true Montrealer!!
Merci et au revoir, Montreal!
