I am now back, however...!
They bypassed the very clean, salt and grit free stairs, I had used all my spare energy on, and chose the bathroom I had introduced to a sponge, but not got any further than that over the sparkling one...
It wasn't just humans adding to the buzz - other residents of the area came out to play.
I was so excited on Saturday when I saw a sparrow!!
A real life bird!
There had been a flock of starlings about a week ago, swarming around the tree outside, but apart from that there had been no bird-life for a couple of months. There were pigeons, of course - there are always pigeons. I think that aspect had started to get me down too, I am used to the sound of birds at least, and it is the weirdest sensation not having any around.
We walked up Mont Royal in the 'warmth.' It was strange, on the one hand it did indeed feel warm and springlike, and the sun had warmth to it at long last, and the blue sky was a deep blue, not the white-blue of cold days. But it was however pretty cold, we still needed gloves and scarves, and I still lost feeling in my fingers by the end of the 90-minute walk.
