...Which is by far overshadowing the fact that it is Friday. So instead of the usual weekly catch up, I am posting a few festive-themed photos. I have never seen a Christmas tree surrounded by flowers before, such as this one outside Cafe Sydney, near Circular Quay: There was a tornado in Sydney this week and it wreaked havoc over the south of the city. 213km per hour winds ripped roofs off houses, left thousands without power, and there were hail stones the size of golf balls. We were lucky - escaping with just a tremendous rain storm.
Nature is so powerful, but it can also produce such vivid and beautiful colours, such as this sky last week: We have been thinking about buying out here for a while, and began looking way before we really should have, which was a silly thing to do as the past couple of years in Sydney the housing market has been a little crazy, and even in the year we have been checking prices the value has leapt considerably.
But we weren't in a position to buy - being self-employed, we needed to have a years accounts before any banks would even look at us. At last!
Sorry for the lack of posts this past fortnight - I will tell you all about what has been going on next week! The last month of the year is upon us once again. The first door of advent calendars are opened, decorations hung up, the countdown to Christmas begins. Only, the date also signifies the first day of summer here in Australia - and that, to my English mind, is as far from Christmassy as it gets. I love summer, but I can't help but think Christmas should look like this:
