Where has this week gone?!
I am giving up on the tomato plants. They are struggling along, looking as if they are pretty dead, just when we have given up on them a tomato appears, so we let them hang on a little longer. But all the fruit we have picked off the plants has been mush so enough is enough. I seem to be able to grow herbs, so will use the container for some more herbs - you can never have enough herbs, right? I remembered to do this little bit of gardening before varnishing the table this time.
The highlight of today: pest control! Yey! Cockroaches have started to reappear and we are inundated with ants - even after I have carefully locked every open packet in a tupperware container, if the lid isn't exactly snapped shut, they are in. Apparently ants love hazelnut flour...
After last times pest control visit (just after we had moved in), we dutifully put all the furniture in the middle of the rooms to the guy could spray the edges of the room. Turns out this guy just uses a gel in the kitchen and bathroom. Well, it made us vacuum up the dust under the bed!

Albie always gets a little jumpy when we start moving furniture, so he firmly disappeared to next door's balcony, and hid in the furthest corner (it was also the prime bird-viewing spot)
It's nearly Autumn! Which is strange, as Autumn occurs a few months prior to Christmas, not after... The nights are drawing in, and when on the cooler days there's more of a freshness to the air. But there are still many days where the sun shines and the ocean matches the colour of the sky:
Whether you are going to spend tomorrow celebrating all things lovey-dovey, like Albie and his Chuckaroo:
...or not...
