Last weekend was hot: 38 degrees hot! Whilst most Sydney-siders went to the beach, sat in from of fans, or switched the air con on, there were those who believed the best way to cool off, was to curl up with your fluffy brother...
Getting ready for bed on Saturday, out of the corner of my eye I saw something move. Still on my England mindset, I thought, "Oh a spider" (we had had the Giant House Spiders at my parents, which I had promptly dispatched outside with a mop).

I peered cautiously, as much as I could at a safe distance, at the huge creature, and after much scared and panicky but slightly curious standing around staring at it, we deduced it was a Wolf Spider. They can give a nasty bite apparently, but thankfully not fatal.
Still, it was not what we wanted by the bed.
