Spring has always been my favourite month; the new excitement to it, the thought of longer days and warmer weather ahead. With it's arrival comes the flowers.
The purple crocuses sheltering under trees in England, yellow daffodils, a rainbow of tulips across Europe, the dainty Blue Squill in Montreal. In the countries we have lived in, spring has had the same tone - with some slight variations, but the essence is still there.
Australia seems to do things a little differently. So let me take you on a tour of our colourful neighbourhood...

Neither of us remember this explosion of bright colour last year (I am sure it was there, in all it's glory)
Perhaps it was because we were still in the state of everything being new; all sights were unfamiliar and therefore each individual aspect merged into new new image...
...whatever it was, we cannot help to notice it this year!
Standing back from the show-stealing vivid hues, there are also some very pretty pastel shades...
...the blue sky is the perfect back drop, to both the dainty blossoms...
...and the bright bursts of colour.
The plant below has to be one of my favourites. Commonly known as the, 'Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow' plant...
...the flower start off as a lovely purple colour and turn to white over time, meaning the plant often has flowers of both colours on it at the same time.
So Pretty!
I see the odd daffodil plant and bunches of tulips in the shops; but that is the closest to the spring features which pop into my head when I think about the season.
And then we have Christmas, not Easter, around the corner - now that is hard to get my head around..!.
